Last week, we continued with our commitment to procure and provide Bruce Grove Youth Centre with £250 worth of food and essential items to help support vulnerable families in the area during the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis.
Since May 2020, we have been able to help families during this difficult time. Thank you to everyone for your support.
Here are some photos of our shop.
Anita of Sanjuro Martial Arts told us that families who use the Youth Centre in Bruce Grove, Tottenham, London were struggling to get food during the Covid-19 crisis.
JC Dragon’s Heart Europe agreed to provide 250 Pounds worth of food for the next 3 months to help some of these families.
Here are one or two photos from our first shopping trip on 19 May 2020.
Many thanks to all who donate to our charity. Without you, we would not be able to offer our support to these families.
Following a general call for help from the Rwandan Orphans Project (ROP) owing to their major fundraising events being cancelled due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, Dragon’s Heart Europe made a special donation to ROP of £2,500 to assist them to continue paying the salaries of their teachers. The following letter was received from Jenny Clover, one of the Trustees of ROP.
“I just wanted to say an enormous thank you for your really incredible support of ROP recently. We’ve been a bit worried about how all this would affect ROP’s finances, and hearing about support like this has really made a huge difference and been a real relief. To know we have the support of you all and JC Dragon’s Heart Europe when things are difficult means a lot to us (on top of all the support you already give us). We are really grateful and very lucky to have supporters like you, so thank you from all of us at ROP for being so quick to come to our aid. I hope we can thank you in person before too long.”
We hope you enjoy seeing the young people.
Please note, no further applications will be accepted as the Tour is now full.
Thank you for all those who applied.
Here is an overview of a number of events from the Meeting Centre for 2019.
The Huis Madelief meeting centre had a good year. In addition to the usual weekly activities, there were also various other fun activities.
Project Huis Daisy, for example, had a games morning, a day of pampering , various film mornings and of course making Christmas pieces in December.
The Huis Madelief project celebrated its 5 year Anniversary in September and this became a festive afternoon to which everyone was invited.
Furthermore, we celebrated the birthdays of some of our volunteers with a very festive afternoon because our regular volunteers, Jacqueline, turned 50 at the end of July. One of our volunteers had persuaded a few members of the Harley Davidson club to come along on the occasion of her 50th birthday and allow her to take a ride on the motorcycle (with someone at the front of course!).
The monthly bingo evenings were also well attended throughout the year; this also applies to the two monthly paranormal evenings. In addition, we had the fashion shows for the ladies of project Madelief in the spring and autumn.
We continuously have a ‘second-hand’ market in the centre and a few times a year an indoor market in Rijswijk.
Because the Centre organises so much for the elderly in the area, we have been nominated for the Hoogvlieter of the Year 2019, together with two more people who contribute to the welfare work in Hoogvliet.
The result will be announced on January 8 during a festive evening. The recordings and the interviews have already taken place. It will be exciting … it would be very nice to be the winner.
Finally, on behalf of the team at the Huis Madelief meeting centre, we wish everyone a Healthy and Happy New Year.

After the success of the International JC Fans Spanish ‘Joining Cultures’ Tour in July 2017 (organised by Antonio Ramírez), we have decided to continue with the ‘Joining Cultures’ theme, and are organising our own Joining Cultures Tour.
The ‘Jackie Chan International Dragon’s Heart Europe/Joining Cultures (England) Fundraising Tour’ will continue with the same philosophy – Jackie Chan fans from different countries and cultures joining together and visiting the locations where the movies ‘The Foreigner’ and ‘Shanghai Knights were filmed. We will also be visiting other cultural places in and around London, England. There are some fun events planned for the evenings, including an auction of exciting memorabilia!
The date of the Tour will be 2nd – 8th August 2020 .
If you would like to join the Tour, just send an email with your name and country to:
We have an update regarding the Tour.
Owing to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Tour has been postponed. It will now take place from 1st August – 7th August 2021
If you are interested in joining us, please send an email with your name and country to –
The locations visited will be from Jackie’s films – The Foreigner and Shanghai Knights, plus of course much sightseeing around London.
We look forward to seeing you next year!
Recognise these locations?
They are all locations in England which have featured in Jackie Chan films. If you would like to come and see them (and more!) for yourself, join us on the first ever International Jackie Chan’s Dragon’s Heart Europe / Joining Cultures Fundraising Tour.
* Joining Cultures was a title made up by Antonio Ramírez for his International Spanish Tour in 2017. He felt it reflected Jackie’s idea of bringing people together from all over the world.
The Tour will be held in and around London in July 2020, and will last 6 days. We are also planning a number of Jackie-themed events and an auction of Jackie memorabilia!
Please be aware that you will need to arrange your own travel to London.
A small percentage of the overall cost will be donated to Jackie Chan’s Dragon’s Heart Europe which will go towards supporting our projects.
At this stage, we are looking to find out how many people would be interested. If you would like to register your interest, please send an email with your name and country to:–

There was a great start to the 2019 New Year at the community centre. The morning session on 2 January was the first to start with a small reception which was just a cosy get together and a toast to 2019.
This was repeated on 8 January at the House Madelief project. The groups of Tuesday and Thursday each made a toast to 2019 whilst enjoying a snack and drink, which was provided by a few volunteers.
Kitty gave a brief speech and wished everyone a happy and healthy New Year.
