Jackie Chan founded The Dragon’s Heart Foundation in 2004 to help children and the elderly in remote areas of China. Since then the Dragon’s Heart Foundation has built over 20 schools, provided books, fees and uniforms, and raised millions of dollars to give much needed aid for disadvantaged children, the elderly and handicapped.
Jackie Chan’s Dragon’s Heart Europe
On 11 February 2011, Jackie Chan’s Dragon’s Heart Europe was established to continue the work of The Dragon’s Heart Foundation throughout Europe and Africa.
We are aware that parts of Europe and Africa desperately need new schools to bring education opportunities to the children so that they can reach their true potential. We will be doing this through our ‘Build A School’ Project. In addition, we aim to identify projects to encourage children and young people to participate in sport and to learn the benefits of team work and healthy competition. Also, through this project, we hope to teach children about charity and how they can help underprivileged children go to school so that they have a chance for a better future. Furthermore, we aim to assist the elderly and handicapped wherever we can.
To fund our objectives, we aim to set up projects in schools and in addition arrange fund raising activities throughout Europe.
We would like to encourage everyone to get involved – together, we can make a difference!
